What Hitler said on the 22nd August 1939

So, every soad fan knows that nasty sentence Hitler said about that nobody remembers the armenians. Well, I never read this sentence in german and was really pissed. Luckily in Screamers you can see the date when it was said. So I googled the whole speech and read it, to see the context. I found out two things: 1. I have a better translation for that phrase and 2. in the whole context the sentence sounds different.
It was also an important speech, because it was the speech which more or less settled the whole WWII. So I translated it. I know that there are translations, but I just feel more comfortable with my own.
I post the english speech first and after it the german. I put in some comments. I also found out that many german phrases used by Hitler or inventet by Hitler never got an english translation. If you don't know a word, either google it or ask for it.

The attacking and destruction of ploand starts at Saturday morning. I will let attack a few companies in polish uniforms Upper Slesia or the protectorate[annotaion of the translater: This was the start of the WWII]. I give a fuck if the world will believe it. The world beliefs in success.

Mitschrift einer Ansprache Hitlers vor Offizieren der Wehrmacht, 22. August 1939

Entschluß zum Angriff auf Polen im Frühling. Ursprünglich Befürchtung, durch politische Konstellation gegen England, Frankreich, Polen zugleich schlagen zu müssen. Auch dieses Risiko hätte getragen werden müssen. Göring hat ja ausgeführt, daß Vierjahresplan gescheitert und wir am Ende, wenn nicht Sieg in kommendem Krieg.

Seit Herbst 1938 … Entschluß, mit Stalin zu gehen. Im Grunde nur drei große Staatsmänner auf der Welt, Stalin, ich und Mussolini. Mussolini, der Schwächste, hat weder Macht der Krone noch der Kirche bremsen können. Stalin und ich die Einzigen, die nur die Zukunft sehen. So werde ich in einigen Wochen Stalin an der gemeinsamen deutsch-russischen Grenze die Hand reichen und mit ihm eine Neuverteilung der Welt vornehmen.

Unsere Stärke ist unsere Schnelligkeit und unsere Brutalität. Dschingis Chan hat Millionen Frauen und Kinder in den Tod gejagt, bewußt und fröhlichen Herzens. Die Geschichte sieht in ihm nur den großen Staatengründer. Was die schwache westeuropäische Zivilisation über mich behauptet, ist gleichgültig. Nur so gewinnen wir den Lebensraum, den wir brauchen. Wer redet heute noch von der Vernichtung der Armenier?

… Polen wird entvölkert und mit Deutschen besiedelt. Mein Polenpakt war nur als Zeitgewinn gedacht. Und im übrigen, meine Herren, ereignet sich mit Rußland ja nur dasselbe, was ich mit Polen durchexerziert habe. Nach Stalins Tod, er ist ein schwerkranker Mann, zerbrechen wir die Sowjetunion. Dann dämmert die deutsche Erdherrschaft herauf. …

Der Angriff und die Vernichtung Polens beginnt am Sonnabend früh. Ich lasse ein paar Kompanien in polnischer Uniform in Oberschlesien oder im Protektorat angreifen. Ob die Welt das glaubt, ist mir scheißegaI. Die Welt glaubt nur an den Erfolg.

Für Sie, meine Herren, winken Ruhm und Ehre wie seit Jahrhunderten nicht mehr. Seien Sie hart, seien Sie schonungslos, handeln Sie schneller und brutaler als die andern. Die Bürger Westeuropas müssen vor Entsetzen erbeben. Das ist die humanste Kriegsführung. Denn es schreckt sie ab.

Die neue Kriegsführung entspricht der neuen Grenzziehung. Ein Wall von Reval, Lublin, Kaschau nach der Donaumündung. Den Rest kriegen die Russen. …

No problem. I also think that this is something everyone should read in his life. It helps understanding germany of the 30's and 40's and well, the WWII also.
I still can't be proud that my folks were supporting this man, but he is right. Indeed the world is only interested in success and only remembers it.
